About

Hi, I’m Omar! I’m from Lima, Peru, and I’ve been teaching languages online for over 8 years. If you understand Spanish but get stuck when it’s time to speak, we’ll have plenty to work on together. We can talk about everyday life, travel, work, or whatever interests you, with helpful corrections along the way. I also co-founded Revolution Languages, where we bring live language(Eng&Spa) and culture programs to schools and organizations in the US and Canada, including Indigenous communities across Canada. Before that, I studied Industrial Engineering and taught English in China for two years. Outside of teaching, you’ll usually find me training karate or Muay Thai, playing tennis, or planning my next trip. I’d love to hear what you’re into and help you talk about it in Spanish!

Teaching Style

My classes are relaxed, but I’ll challenge you when you’re ready. If you understand more Spanish than you can speak, we’ll work on getting the words out without overthinking. If you’re already comfortable speaking, we’ll work on fluency and understanding faster, more natural speech. I especially enjoy helping my students with pronunciation and intonation, so speaking feels more comfortable and their Spanish sounds more natural. We’ll start where you are and build from there, using conversations about things you actually enjoy. I’ll give you time to speak, help with corrections, and encourage you to try, even when you’re unsure. If you’re reconnecting with Spanish as part of your family or culture, there’s no judgment about what you “should” already know. ¡Nos vemos en clase!
