Maria Patricia Mesa

About

Hi! I’m María Patricia, a native Spanish educator and biliteracy specialist originally from Colombia and currently based in Mexico. With over 20 years of experience as an international educator, curriculum coordinator, and consultant across Latin America, I am passionate about helping students build true confidence and fluency in Spanish. Outside of teaching, I love literature, journalism, cultural exchange, and lifelong learning. Whether you are looking to master conversational Spanish, improve your writing, or navigate professional/academic contexts, I bring empathy, joy, and deep cultural knowledge to every lesson.

Teaching Style

My approach is personalized, engaging, and rooted in modern language acquisition research (Science of Reading & Writing). I don't just teach grammar rules—I help you acquire the language naturally through authentic conversations, rich texts, and real-world contexts tailored to your goals. In my lessons, you can expect a warm, supportive space where making mistakes is welcomed as part of learning. We will focus on building natural fluency, expanding your vocabulary, and mastering nuances with joy and confidence!
